Future Abbey Wood Workshops: Shape how your area will look, feels and works

From "Future Abbey Wood"

Go to the project

Overview

Join us at the Future Abbey Wood Workshops to shape the future of your area - let's make it look, feel, and work better together!

About the workshops

The URF workshops will be your opportunity to share you ideas, thoughts and aspirations for Abbey Wood. The workshops will be interactive and creative sessions covering different themes such as housing, greenspaces, public space design and community services. Your ideas will help us create a vision for the area. The team will then share further ideas in the summer for you to feedback on.

Each session will cover the same content so you only needed to attend one workshop.

The workshops will take place at:

18.00 - 20.30, Wednesday 18th March: The Nest, Cygnet Square, London SE2 9UH

11.00 - 13.30, Saturday 21st March: Abbey Wood Community Centre, 4 Knee Hill, Abbey Wood, London SE2 0YS

About the Project

Abbey Wood has been identified as a priority area for an Urban Regeneration Framework because it is at an important moment of opportunity, with positive change already underway and more planned for the future.

The opening of the Elizabeth line in May 2022 has significantly improved transport connections, reducing journey times to central London and strengthening Abbey Wood’s role as a well-connected place to live, work and visit. Alongside this, new homes, community facilities, shops and employment opportunities are being delivered nearby in Thamesmead.

The Royal Borough of Greenwich and the London Borough of Bexley are working in partnership to best address challenges and maximising the opportunities. This partnership ensures that we create a unified, well-connected, and sustainable green neighbourhood that doesn't stop at a borough boundary.
