We want to shape the borough with you and our partners. It’s important we understand what you think matters now and into the future and that we hear as many voices and opinions as possible.
Your opinions will inform a new 2050 Vision for Bexley to be published in 2025.

2050 Vision survey results
Thank you to all those that participated in our survey.
We received 218 responses to our online survey.
We also heard the thoughts of around 350 more residents through in-person workshops in schools and community groups.
Key results from the online survey
- The top words participants chose to describe Bexley right now are ‘Green’, ‘Busy’, ‘Diverse’ and ‘Safe’. Additionally, ‘Friendly’, and ‘Dirty’ are words participants frequently said.
- The top three words to describe what participants most like about Bexley right now are the ‘Green and open spaces’, ‘Being close to Kent and the countryside’, and ‘Being close to Central London’.
- The most important services and facilities to participants right now are ‘Primary Care (for example GPs)’, ‘Community Safety’, and ‘Secondary Care (for example hospitals)’. Additionally, ‘Parks, playgrounds and open spaces’ is frequently chosen by participants.
- The most important issues facing the borough of Bexley right now are ‘Crime and Community Safety’, ‘Quality of healthcare services’, and ‘Bills and living costs’.
- The most relevant issues to the participants right now are ‘Housing’ (for example availability and affordability of places to live), ‘Crime’ (for example anti-social behaviour, fly tipping), ‘Cost of living’, ‘Transport’ (for example transport options, traffic, etc.), and ‘Healthcare’ (for example GP appointment availability).
- The top three words participants hoped to describe Bexley as in 2050 are ‘Safe’, ‘Clean’ and ‘Green’. Additionally, ‘Thriving’, ‘Vibrant’ and ‘Healthy’ are words frequently chosen by participants.
- The services and facilities participants thought would be the most important to the borough of Bexley in 2050 are ‘Primary Care’, ‘Adult Social Care’ and ‘Secondary Care’.
- The most important issues for the borough of Bexley to improve upon for 2050, and in being ready for the future, are ‘Crime and Community Safety’, ‘Quality of Healthcare Services’, and ‘Public Transport options’. Additionally, ‘Local economy and opportunities for growth’ is frequently chosen by participants.
- The issues participants think will be most relevant to their life in 2050 are ‘Healthcare’, ‘Adult Social Care’, ‘Housing’, and ‘Community / Community Safety’. Additionally, participants highlighted ‘Cost of living’, ‘Public Transport’, and ‘Climate Change’



These results have been considered by partners as they develop a shared vision and goals for the borough. This will be shared in Spring 2025.
