BCSP Community Safety Survey

Each Autumn, we ask residents “How safe do you feel in Bexley and what concerns you the most?”. This helps the Bexley Community Safety Partnership set its priorities for the following financial year.

Each Spring, the priorities are published in the annual Joint Strategic Assessment, which also includes an annual overview of crime statistics and the survey results.

The 2025 Community Safety Survey is open 17 September - 31 October.

Community Safety Poll Results

This short poll received 32 responses, so it is not a representative sample of Bexley's population. The initial results show that most participants feel fairly safe in Bexley, with the average safety score being 6.5, while the most common answer given was an 8.

Question 2 allowed for 3 answers to be given in response to the crimes that concern residents the most. The top 3 concerns from respondents were burglary, vehicle crime, and fly tipping. There was no concern shown towards acts of terrorism and arson.

Around half of the participants were male, with slightly less female representation. Additionally, 9% of respondents did not declare their gender.

A large majority of participants were White, with 7 people preferring not to say or stating that they were of a different ethnic background.

Over 90% of participants live in the borough, with the remaining respondents working, but not living, in Bexley.
