Are you part of our Summer Reading Challenge?
Children aged 4 to 11 are invited to a free summer of fun in libraries by joining this year’s Summer Reading Challenge. The challenge starts on 5 July and runs until 6 September.
The theme of this year’s challenge is Story Garden and centres around adventures in nature and the great outdoors. Children are invited to read six or more books of their own choice throughout the summer holidays and collect fun rewards along the way.
All 12 of the borough’s libraries will be taking part which will also see them host a wide range of free events alongside the challenge, including arts, crafts, storytellers, animal handling and much more.
The challenge and the events programme will inspire curiosity about nature, creativity and a love of reading for pleasure that can give children a boost in their education and development.
