Optimism Poll - Results
This short poll asked two questions:
1) Are you optimistic for your future? (Yes/No)
2) Are you optimistic for Bexley's future? (Yes/No)
There were 82 responses.
People appear more optimistic for their own future then for the area's future.
When asked about optimism for their future, 61% were optimistic and 39% were not.
When asked if optimistic for the borough's future, 46% were and 54% were not.


When comparing how people answered both questions, three quarters answered the same answer for both questions.
- Over 40% of responses were optimistic for both themselves and the area.
- Over 30% were not optimistic for either.
- Just under 20% were optimistic for themselves but not the area.
- A small proportion were optimistic for the area but not themselves.

More females answered than males.
A large majority of participants were White, with a small number of responses from Black, Mixed and Other ethnic backgrounds and people preferring not to say.
There were a good number of participants in age groups from aged 20 to 70.
The majority of participants, 56%, lived within Bexley and 7% worked in Bexley but lived outside Bexley.
